Flu (Influenza)
Flu is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses that infect the nose, throat, and sometimes the lungs. It can cause mild to severe illness, and at times can lead to death. The best way to prevent flu is by getting a flu vaccine each year.
Book an appointmentCommon Cold
The common cold is an illness affecting your nose and throat. Most often, it's harmless, but it might not feel that way. Germs called viruses cause a common cold. Often, adults may have two or three colds each year. Infants and young children may have colds more often.
Book an appointmentTonsillitis
The inflammation of the tonsils, which are two oval-shaped tissue pads at the back of the throat, one on each side, is known as tonsillitis. Swollen tonsils, sore throats, trouble swallowing, and tender lymph nodes on the sides of the neck are all indications of tonsillitis. Although bacterial infections can also result in tonsillitis, common viral infections account for the majority of instances.
Book an appointmentThroat Infection
Throat infection is an inflammation of the soft tissues in the throat, including the pharynx, tonsils, and larynx. It can be caused by a variety of factors, including viruses, bacteria, and allergies. Symptoms of a throat infection can include a sore throat, difficulty swallowing, swollen lymph nodes in the neck, and fever. If you have a severe throat infection or if your symptoms do not improve after a few days, you should see a doctor. You may need antibiotics to treat the infection.
Book an appointmentSinusitis
Sinusitis is an inflammation of the sinuses, which are air-filled cavities in the bones of the skull and face. Sinusitis can be caused by viruses, bacteria, or allergies. Symptoms of sinusitis include facial pain, congestion, runny nose, post-nasal drip, cough, fever, fatigue, headache, toothache, bad breath, reduced sense of smell, and reduced sense of taste. If symptoms are severe or do not improve after a few days, you should see a doctor.
Book an appointmentAllergies
Allergies are an overreaction of the immune system to a foreign substance, called an allergen. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include sneezing, runny nose, itchy eyes, hives, wheezing, difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, and anaphylaxis. The best way to prevent an allergic reaction is to avoid the allergen that triggers your allergies. If you have an allergic reaction, the best course of action is to seek medical attention immediately.
